Manifest with balance this spring

The spring equinox is upon us in the Northern Hemisphere. A time when light and dark are equal. A time when we move out of the shadow and into more light, symbolizing renewal, rebirth, new beginnings, and initiative. A time to plant new seeds of what we would like to grow in our own lives. A time to understand the push and pull of where we want to give our energy and where we want to receive. A time to create balance.
I theme my yoga classes on a weekly basis, and this week, we've been working with sun and moon salutations and balance poses. It has been a really fun way to physically play with these ideas and elements of spring. At the beginning and end of each class, I've read this poem from A Wrinkle in Time:
This time brings forth light and darkness dancing together,
born together, born of each other,
neither preceding, neither following,
both fully being in joyful rhythm.
I especially love the idea of joyful rhythm and how to bring that into my life as the days grow sunnier and warmer. It feels like a beautiful and powerful time to manifest something new. To grow with Mother Nature and plant new seeds of our dreams and aspirations.
So, are you ready?! Yeah, me too! How can we get started? That’s the question, right?! Here are a few little ideas to help you gain momentum.
Set Intentions with Clarity: Take time to journal, meditate, walk in nature, or quietly think about what you want to cultivate this season. Be specific about your desires and the energy you want to bring into your life.
Take Action: Achieving what we dream about doesn't happen just by saying it out loud or writing it in a journal. Clear intentions are great, but forward movement and actions have to occur too. When coaching, I always encourage people to make your intentions, goals, and next steps small, specific, actionable, and achievable.
Balance Your Energy: Just as day and night are equal, reflect on where you are giving too much or too little energy. We can't fill from an empty cup, and we can't manifest from a place of exhaustion. Notice how you feel and adjust accordingly to create harmony.
Plant Physical (and Metaphorical) Seeds: Whether it’s starting a garden, launching a new project, or deepening a habit, nurture something that will grow over time. Nurturing something outside of yourself and seeing it develop and flourish builds confidence and brings joy.
Celebrate Your Wins: Engage in activities that bring happiness and fulfillment. And when you achieve something, congratulate and reward yourself - because you've earned it! Recognizing our wins is a great way to stay motivated and build confidence.
So, what am I growing this spring?! Well, a few things, actually! I'm launching a new yoga teacher mentorship program, plus I'm planning three new women's yoga and wellness retreats. On the personal side, I've signed up for a fall marathon (yes, 26.2 miles!), so I'll be kicking into high gear. Running my bum off (and taking a lot more yoga to strengthen and stretch my muscles). It all feels like a very exciting, joyful time.
Happy Spring!
